Originally posted late last night via Destructoid, it looks like Microsoft is potentially looking into original Xbox backwards compatibility on their Xbox One console. Not happy with simply nailing Xbox 360 compatibility, Microsoft’s own Phil Spencer acknowledges that its customer base wants to be able to play the entire Xbox library on their newest console as well. Once the Fall update comes out this November, which brings a new operating system and Xbox 360 backwards compatibility to the Xbox One, Spencer says the team may then look into making original Xbox games playable via a future update.
In the meantime, Microsoft has the current list of Xbox 360 titles that already work on the Xbox One via their free Preview Program. The rest should be coming out this November.
